Beat Street was a short lived comic strip that I created for an equally short-lived local Toronto entertainment newspaper called SMASH. The toon was originally going to be called "Too Much Music" as it was a parody of the rock'n'pop industry, but the publisher feared that the video station Much Music wouldn't take kindly to it, and therefore wouldn't advertise. So I changed the name, but Much Music never did end up advertising, which just goes to show that artistic concessions are usually the result of misguided concerns.
