Who doesn't love comics?! I have my favourites, listed below, and, if you're interested, I also have archives of my 2 short-lived comics that ran in different Toronto newspapers during the 80s and 90s. Enjoy!
bs perspective
The BS Perspective was a recurring editorial illustration, lampooning the advertising world, that ran in Strategy Magazine every 2nd Thursday. I stopped the series in January 2001 when i left Toronto for a few years to work abroad.
beat street
Beat Street was a panel cartoon strip i did in the late 80s, lampooning the music industry. It ran once a month, for a little over a year, in a small independent Toronto music & lifestyle magazine called SMASH! The paper sucked but my 'toon was great!
comics I like
A prelimiinary, but no means comprehensive, list would include the genius of Nancy, the zest of Family Circus, the complexities of Cathy and the philosophical truisms of Dennis the Menace. I'm also a big fan of Tex Avery, Bill Elder, Gary Larson, Seth, almost anything from The New Yorker, and all the Marvel and/or Mad comics books from the 60s and 70s. I also love anything pre-1980 that is hopelessly politically incorrect. |
